Most of these inequalities have led to conflict among the staff. Employers have a responsibility to ensure that their workers are treated fairly. Discrimination includes hiring, demoting, firing and promoting based on prejudice that results in the biased treatment of employees (Triana, Jayasinghe, Pieper, 2015). I interviewed a middle-sized law firm hiring manager with the following questions and responses.Question 1: Do you ever receive complaints from employees about discrimination from their coworkers?Response: Yes, sometimes I receive complaints from workers, especially the African American and Hispanic workers complaining of being harassed by their colleagues and supervisor. They report being called arrogant names demeaning their race. Also, they have stated being given more duties than th eir colleagues.Question 2: what is the gender balance in the top management position?Response: we only have few managerial positions held by women, but men head most slots. The firm tries to have a gender balance, but we are more focused on the competence of a potential candidate before offering a top position. The company prefers men for no good reason.Question 3: Do you have a similar compensation scheme for employees?Response: Yes, however, the worker compensation is according to merit and the level of hard work.
